Ishkap Beds Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Along the Ishkap ridge, southern slope of Mount Dzhalpak, N. Nuratau ridge. I.A. Kim, S.K. Piven, O.B. Ivanova, 1987 (165, p.48). They form the lower part of the Khatinbulak Fm.
Synonym: Ishkapskie Sloi, Ишкапские сл.
Lithology and Thickness
Crinoidal, stromatolitic massive and indistinctly wavy-bedded limestones, thickness 30m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The lower boundary is unclear
Upper contact
Stratigraphically higher are the Abartkan Beds Fm.
Regional extent
Northern Nuratau ridge, Merishkorskaya structure, Ishkap ridge, left and right banks of the middle course of the Abaratkan River, northern roadside road between the villages of Chashma-Zrak and the ruins of the village of Shaly.
